ADNC Projects were engaged by Walter Carefoot & Sons to sympathetically refurbish a former Victorian school building for Craven District Council to create a Creative Art Centre on Otley Street, Skipton.
The project was jointly funded by Craven District Council, English Heritage, Heritage Action Zone from Historic England and the Architectural Heritage Fund to accommodate artist studios, recording studio, community meeting rooms and an exhibition hall.
Externally, ADNC Projects created the new entrance to the building including the manufacture, supply and fit of the oak framed glazed screen, completed the lime re-pointing, car park retaining walls, York stone steps and tarmac asphalting.
Internally, ADNC Projects undertook the demolition of the internal suspended timber floors, installed insulated wall linings, completed the first fix and second fix joinery, plastering, suspended ceilings and decoration works.
The recording studio required fitting out with acoustic wall and floor linings and specialist acoustic door and glazed screen.
